Kathryn & David – Nashville, TN
After deployment to Afghanistan, David returned and he and Kathryn jumped into married life, furthering their education and securing professional positions. Little did they know that endometriosis would soon interrupt their plans. They experienced a pregnancy which ended at twelve weeks after naively buying baby things, never considering the possibility of devastating consequences. Finding greater strength as they leaned on one another, they have since endured another miscarriage which caused Kathryn to feel unnecessary and unwarranted shame at not being able to carry a child to term. Now facing the costs of an IVF, they are happy to be recipients of a grant.
As Kathryn wrote, “My husband and I have so much to be thankful for. We don’t have some exciting love story; our relationship grew confidently and steadily. What we do have is a partnership, a best friendship, and mutual respect.” Baby Quest hopes they can add a child to their household.
