Applying for a Grant

Eligibility

Am I eligible for a Baby Quest grant?

Grant eligibility depends on the applicant’s circumstances (i.e. underlying cause of infertility, financial situation and other life factors) and their meeting a set of requirements, as listed below. Note that Baby Quest does not reimburse for treatment already begun.

We strive to be diverse in regards to ethnicity, sexual orientation, and geography. Grants are available to singles and couples, both same-sex and heterosexual.

Note that meeting grant requirements does not assure receiving a grant. Baby Quest receives hundreds of applications each cycle, and we are unable to fund all those who apply.

More information is available on our FAQs page.

For your convenience, please use the following checklist to determine your eligibility.

Eligibility Checklist

Type of treatments/procedures covered: Baby Quest funds a range of procedures including (but not limited to) egg and sperm donation, egg freezing, in vitro fertilization, embryo donation, and gestational surrogacy. In addition, Baby Quest accepts applications from those who require IVF with PGD (genetic testing) to eliminate passing along heredity diseases.

The Need for Medical Intervention/Fertility Treatments: Baby Quest covers the following ASRM definition of infertility – “The need for medical intervention, including, but not limited to, the use of donor gametes or donor embryos in order to achieve a successful pregnancy either as an individual or with a partner.” (ASRM, 2023).

Overall health: All applicants must demonstrate overall good physical and mental health and have no medical conditions that would pose a serious risk to themselves or, in the case of females, the child they would carry (e.g. active acute infections.)

Residence: Applicants must be permanent residents of the United States and must be under the care of an accredited fertility facility (of their choice) within the United States.

Living arrangements: All applicants must maintain adequate living arrangements (must lease or own a residence.)

Means for child support: All applicants must possess the means to offer continued child support (at least one partner must maintain employment.)

Health Insurance: All applicants must have basic health insurance for mother and baby with sufficient prenatal coverage. We generally don’t fund those with extensive fertility insurance coverage.

If you had applied for a Baby Quest grant before: Applicants may apply a total of 2 times. Each application must be accompanied by a $75 fee and a new application form, medical form, etc.

Receiving financial aid from other charities: We do not generally grant awards to those already receiving financial help from other charities. Note that this does NOT include discounts from fertility clinics and bank loans.

Your fertility timeline: Baby Quest does not reimburse for procedures already begun.

Readiness to begin treatment: Recipients must begin treatment within three months of receiving a grant.

Diversity: We respect diversity. Grant are available to same-sex and heterosexual couples and singles.
