Kristy and Zach have been together 6 years. In January 2015, Kristy spent 5 days in the Intensive Care Unit due to emergency surgery for a burst appendix.

Following a difficult recovery, the couple got married that September and began their journey to start a family. After nearly two years of trying to conceive including four failed Clomid cycles and one IUI cycle, they sought a second opinion.

Their new doctor discovered significant scar tissue from the appendix surgery had left both tubes blocked and filled with toxic fluid. Kristy had corrective surgery to properly seal off her tubes in order to become better candidates for IVF.

Thanks to the generosity of Baby Quest and IHR of Chicago, the couple is hopeful and excited to start their first IVF cycle.

Kristy and Zach suffered the loss of a baby boy in the 5th month of pregnancy. Happily, they welcomed a son on 1/14/2020. With help of new insurance, they added a girl 11/26/21
