RULES WHEN APPLYING FOR A GRANT FOR GESTATIONAL SURROGACY

To say that gestational surrogacy is expensive is an understatement.  It is also a long process that can extend for many months and often beyond a year. Therefore, we have established certain guidelines and requirements that are different from those pertaining to other treatment such as “regular” ivf, egg/sperm donor ivf, embryo donation, or egg freezing.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A SURROGACY GRANT, YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Created embryos
  2. Completed genetic testing of embryos (if doing genetic testing)

IF USING AN AGENCY:

If you are using a surrogacy agency and have not been matched, the agency must confirm that you will be provided with a medically cleared surrogate.

IF USING A FRIEND/RELATIVE AS A CARRIER:

The gestational carrier must be medically cleared by the fertility clinic. The medical evaluation form included in the application must be completed with the carrier’s information (uterine information and past fertility history).

FINANCIAL INFORMATION:

Baby Quest cannot reimburse for any of the expenses already incurred. Therefore, any costs we cover are those going forward….escrow account, legal, insurance, transfer fees, medications.

On the application you are asked what costs you have covered and what you will encounter in the future. Grants only cover future expenses and cannot be used to reimburse past payments.

Baby Quest grants generally do not exceed $18 – $20,000. Therefore, if your “ask” is more than this, you must show proof of how you will pay for the balance needed to proceed.
